WalkFit Orthotics - Grillo Gait Trainer

A gait trainer is an electric wheeled apparatus that helps an impaired person to learn or re-learn how to walk normally as part of gait therapy. Gait trainers are particularly designed for people with limited mobility, to give the chance to boost walking strength. Walking can be a problem for people with limited mobility because of the decreased range of their mobility, coupled with increased time required to execute simple movements. Walking is the foundation of a healthy lifestyle and one of the basic needs of individuals and other animals.

The following are some of the advantages associated with the use of gait training devices: a) They are convenient and b) they can help improve the function of the joints and muscles. As previously mentioned, the main purpose of this apparatus is to provide an impaired person walking support by giving assistance when he/she steps out of straight posture. This in turn improves the movement of the lower limbs and it improves the posterior positioning. This leads to improved circulation, lessening the chances of impairing the brain functions. It also leads to improved muscle power and strength.

There are a number of models of gait trainers available on the market today. Some of the most notable advantages seen in the products include: a) They are convenient to use and b) They can help improve overall walking performance. When they are used by people with reduced mobility, they can significantly improve the function of the knees, ankles, hips, buttocks, elbows, and shoulders. In fact, these apparatus have been shown to be highly effective in helping to strengthen muscles and to increase bone density in the body. For more information on the benefits seen in these devices, please refer to the link below.

The two-point crane and the gait trainer are both great aids for those suffering from injuries and impairments of the lower limbs and hips and legs. The two-point crane is often used in helping to correct the alignment of the vertebrae in the back, the gluteal muscles in the buttocks, and to correct the positioning of the pelvis. The gait trainer on the other hand is often used in helping to increase the gait speed of the patient and to increase the flexibility of their hip joints. Some of the devices are also referred to as "walkers" or "walking machines". In general, the equipment is designed to allow the person using it to step onto a platform that is affixed at the bottom of the arbor. These platforms are made out of wood or plastic and are placed in various positions around the home, including on the ground, in a sitting position, standing position, or on a step or lily pad.

Other models of the gait trainer range from a portable one-person model that features a foot tray and footrest to a larger 2-person model with more freedom of movement and with the ability to recline back in a fully reclined position. Coloring options are available on some models, including pink, green, light blue, gray, and cream. Some models also include a music player and a color changing LED display. Some models have a color-coding system where a patient can choose their favorite color and have that color appear on the device, as well as a sound that plays when that color is spoken by the patient. The grillo system, which is a modification of the traditional WalkFit system, consists of a pair of lightweight molded orthotics that fit the foot in a way that does not require the traditional V-shaped design of traditional walkers. These orthotics are fitted into the inserts that are included in the WalkFit Pro Orthotic and are made from a soft material similar to felt. They can be worn either in the forward or backward position but cannot be worn in front of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). This design of the grillo gait trainers allows the patient to move his toes independently of the hands and legs and also allows for natural anterior, posterior, and supine gait movements, without excessive flexion of the knees or ankles.
